CBV VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITYThe Institute has an exciting opportunity for a CBV with experience valuing start-ups or early-stage companies in the tech space. As part of their Innovation Governance Program, the Canadian Council of Innovators is looking for a CBV to present two 60-minute sessions (the same session, twice – format is flexible) at their upcoming Innovation Governance Summit in Toronto on June 16th. The Summit will be attended by 125-150 business leaders and corporate directors, including government and banks. The overarching goal would be to educate board members about evaluating business value and other financial discussions in which board members should be well versed. NEW VIDEO SERIES ON SUCCESSION PLANNINGWe are excited to announce our newest video series, highlighting the vital role of CBVs in successful succession planning. As financial experts, CBVs offer unique qualifications to provide accurate business valuations and guide owners through the complex process of transferring assets. Our three-part video series, accompanied by an insightful CBV Insights article, explores the fundamental role CBVs play in succession planning teams. Dr. Christine Sawchuk, MEd, EdD, CPA, CA, CBV, interviews CBV valuation experts who share their perspectives on the important role of CBVs in succession planning from the point of view of business owners, CPAs, and key business advisors. 2023 MQE REGISTRATION OPENRegistration for the 2023 MQE is open. The date of the 2023 MQE is Wednesday, September 20, 2023. All documents such as policies, mandatory course notes, past MQE booklets, and solutions are available in your CBV Institute account, on the MQE candidate tab. Once it is available, online proctoring information will also appear on your CBV account candidate page, it will be sent via email, and it will be included in an edition of CBV Matters. Students will be given the opportunity to test the online testing environment. Ensure that you apply for exemption(s) that you are eligible for prior to registering for the MQE. The system will not recognize that you have completed the course requirement unless you submit your exemption request. All questions related to the MQE must be sent to MQE@cbvinstitute.com. |
