The Valuations group at SB Partners LLP is seeking a dynamic, smart, and service-oriented Valuations Associate, Intermediate, to join our team!

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Preparation of schedules and reports such as forecasts, earnings analyses, valuation models and discounted cash flows analyses in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Engagement planning, including identifying primary and other issues, along with determining the approach.
  • Work with team members in completing the valuation analysis and detailed financial reports.
  • Communication of the file status to managers and ensuring that progress is consistent with expectations.
  • Liaising with clients and lawyers to acquire requested information.
  • Assist with transactional work, including due diligence and quality of earnings analyses.
  • Provide upward feedback to improve process and communication.
  • Assist with internal performance enhancement initiatives.
  • Enter daily timesheet hours and personal expenses.
  • Meet target billable and non-billable hours.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.

Academic and Work-Related Qualifications

  • University degree in finance and or accounting
  • CBV designation or progression toward completion of the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) program and/or enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA).

Work Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Valuations Associate, Accountant or similar role
  • Strong client service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Self motivated, results driven.
  • Willingness to be coached and mentored.
  • Experience using CaseWare and TaxPrep software.
  • Experience using QuickBooks or Simply Accounting.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Standards for private enterprises.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrate ability to use Document Management Tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Has transportation available as some travel may be required.
  • Sits at a desk for prolonged periods and works on a computer.
  • Works effectively within an open-concept environment with distractions (phones, conversations etc.).
  • Is able to deal with working in a high-stress environment with competing priorities, demanding deadlines, and interruptions
  • Can accommodate remote work if required.
  • May work additional hours beyond the standard as required (throughout the year) to assist/meet the firm’s objectives and responsibilities.
