PROGRAM OF STUDIES - UPCOMING DEADLINES

Exam Opt-Out – Tuesday, June 27

York University will send all students a link to opt-out of their course exam if they so wish. After opting-out of an exam, a reduced re-enrolment price will automatically apply when you register for that course in the next semester. Students will not be permitted to opt-out of their exam after this deadline.

Deadline to Apply for Academic Accommodations – Tuesday, June 27

In order to apply for academic accommodations, students may submit the appropriate documentation to education@cbvinstitute.com.

PRACTICE CORNER: CAUTION ON SCHEDULES WITHOUT A REPORT

It has come to CBV Institute’s attention that from time to time, members are asked whether they can provide calculations in schedules-only, without a complete or formal report. For example, this may arise in dispute contexts, in a collaborative family law situation, or when the parties are attempting to negotiate a settlement. A schedules-only work product may or may not meet CBV practice standards, and therefore requires thoughtful consideration and a high level of caution. The first issue to consider is “Does a schedules-only work product contain a conclusion of value, of financial gain/ loss or a conclusion of a financial nature?”
