CONNECT 2024 - CALLS FOR VOLUNTEERS & SPEAKERSCall for Volunteers CBV Institute is looking for conference planning committee members for CONNECT 2024 (June 20 & 21 in Montreal, QC). The Conference Planning Committee is divided into 3 streams – Core BV, Litigation and Deals. Members of each Planning Committee will identify stimulating valuation topics and cutting-edge business issues in their designated stream as well as secure expert speakers who can provide robust, in-depth presentations. Call for Presenters CBV Institute is accepting proposals from CBVs, lawyers, investment professionals and industry experts, that will offer cutting-edge content for CONNECT 2024, for all topics of interest to valuation professionals. CONNECT 2024 will be taking place June 20 & 21 in Montreal, QC. Additionally, CBV Institute is also interested in knowing if there any themes/topics that you would like to see addressed at CONNECT. CBVs nationwide are invited to apply to speak as panelists at the conference. FDRIO’s annual conference, which will be held virtually again this year, is a must-attend event for the family dispute resolution community and regularly offers a financial stream of programming led and attended by your colleagues. 2023 MQE REGISTRATION OPENRegistration for the 2023 MQE is open until August 14. The date of the 2023 MQE is Wednesday, September 20, 2023. All documents such as policies, mandatory course notes, past MQE booklets, and solutions are available in your CBV Institute account, on the MQE candidate tab. Once it is available, online proctoring information will also appear on your CBV account candidate page, it will be sent via email, and it will be included in an edition of CBV Matters. Students will be given the opportunity to test the online testing environment. All questions related to the MQE must be sent to MQE@cbvinstitute.com. |

SPONSORED RESEARCH INITIATIVE – REQUEST FOR PROPOSALSProposals for CBV Institute’s annual Sponsored Research Initiative are due by September 21, 2023. CBV Institute welcomes all submissions that further innovative research in the business valuation field, including from Registered Students in the CBV Program of Studies and from CBVs at any stage of their career. Submissions are also welcomed from academics and professionals who do not hold the CBV designation but who work in complementary areas such as accounting, finance, economics, and litigation. The winning proposal can be on any under-explored topic of relevance to business valuation practitioners. Top-of-mind topics for this year include but are not limited to: (1) the unique challenges of valuing start-ups and high-growth companies, including Generative AI companies; (2) takeaways for practitioners from recent public market fluctuations e.g., the boom-bust cycles in technology, cannabis, and crypto; and (3) practice management considerations related to the adoption of AI and AVMs. CBV Institute provides compensation of $10,000 for completion of the selected research project. |
