CBV IS APPOINTED IVSC BOARD CHAIR

The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) has announced Thomas Lee, CBV, as the new Chair of IVSC’s Financial Instruments Board. Thomas is a Partner at KPMG Canada and leads its Valuation Services’ Financial Instruments Team. He has been Vice Chair of the IVSC’s Financial Instruments Board since its inception in 2019. The Financial Instruments Board plays a pivotal role at IVSC leading the development of International Valuation Standards for financial instruments. Our congratulations to Thomas on this significant international appointment.

WINTER TERM 2022 GRADES

Winter Term 2022 grades will be posted in Students’ CBV accounts on April 12th. Students should receive notification via email. Feedback includes their marks per question and overall comments on exam performance.

PRACTICE INSPECTION FINDINGS

2021 Practice Inspection Summary Report Released

We are pleased to share the results of the third year of the Practice Inspection Program. The 2021 inspections covered work products issued during January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020. Overall, the 2021 inspection results were positive; however, there were areas where compliance with applicable professional standards can be improved.

CBV CONGRESS 2022 – REGISTRATION OPEN

The most anticipated CBV event of the year – CBV Congress 2022 – is back, live in Vancouver this June 6th & 7th.

Early bird registration deadline is April 30th.

INFORMATION REGARDING ONLINE VOTING IN ELECTIONS

Voting for this year’s four regional director elections will occur online. Elections for the following regions will be held this year:

The Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and the Territories of Nunavut and Northwest Territories, collectively.

CBV Institute has engaged Simply Voting to provide a secure, anonymous, and user-friendly online voting system for this election.

Online voting will be available at 12:01 am ET on Friday, April 8th, and will be available until 11:59 pm ET on April 30th.

At 12:01 am on Friday, April 8th, Members in the above regions will receive an email from Simply Voting that includes:

The link that you will use to access the voting website.
Your unique Elector ID.

MQE 2022 - REGISTRATION OPEN

Registration for the 2022 MQE is open. The date of the 2022 MQE is Wednesday September 21, 2022.

Starting in 2022, materials for the MQE will no longer be hosted on York’s Moodle platform. All documents such as policies, mandatory course notes, past MQE booklets and solutions, and Examity information will be provided on the candidate’s account on cbvinstitute.com once they have registered.
