Smythe Advisory is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our growing valuations and corporate finance practice in our downtown Vancouver office.
The Opportunity
With a team of eight CBVs and CFAs, Smythe Advisory is one of BC’s largest independent valuations and corporate finance practices. Collaborating directly with partners and private business owners, the ideal candidate will be an ambitious, self-motivated professional that enjoys challenges and values personal learning and growth.
This position will involve:
- Performing valuation analysis for succession planning, litigation support, corporate reorganizations and financial reporting
- Preparation of financial models for financial forecasts and projections
- Performing financial analysis on businesses going through a sale or due diligence process
- Conducting economic and industry research
- Producing high-quality deliverables, including valuation reports, financial models, quality of earnings reports, confidential information memorandums and presentations
- Communicating directly with business owners and other professional advisors
- Participating in business development projects
REQUIREMENTS:
- CPA designation
- Commitment to enroll in and complete the Chartered Business Valuations (CBV) program
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional work experience in a financial role
- Commitment to continuous personal learning and growth
- Strong business acumen with problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
