REGIONAL ELECTION DEADLINE

New candidates are running in both regions! Nomination packages are due February 29, 2024.

Two regional elections will be held in 2024:

1. Province of Quebec. The term of the Director elected in 2021 for the Province of Quebec will be complete in 2024.
2. Province of Ontario, not including the City of Toronto. Nominations for this region were called for in 2023. Since no nominations were received in 2023, the position remained vacant last year.

ADVISORY WORK PRODUCTS - IMPORTANT MEMBER SURVEY

Do you issue Advisory Reports or other work products where you are acting in an advisory (non-independent) role? CBV Institute needs your input on Practice Standards Nos. 210, 220 and 230, Practice Bulletin No. 5, and other growing areas of advisory services for CBVs (Quality of Earnings, Pricing Analysis, etc.). Respondents have a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card!

This important survey explores consequential issues for practitioners such as:

• whether the 200 series practice standards should be eliminated, revised or clarified; and
• whether the standards can better reflect market needs.

Survey results will be considered by CBV Institute’s Professional Practice and Standards Committee (PPSC) and will help inform future standard-setting.

PROGRAM OF STUDIES INSTRUCTOR NEEDED

CBV Institute is seeking an instructor to co-teach Level IV starting in the Summer 2024 term. The instructor will contribute to developing the course exam, conduct two webinars per term, grade exams, and respond to technical questions online.
