REGIONAL ELECTION UPDATE

Two regional elections will be held in 2024:

1. Province of Quebec. The term of the Director elected in 2021 for the Province of Quebec will be complete in 2024.
2. Province of Ontario, not including the City of Toronto. Nominations for this region were called for in 2023. Since no nominations were received in 2023, the position remained vacant last year.

PROGRAM OF STUDIES INSTRUCTOR NEEDED

CBV Institute is seeking an instructor to co-teach Level IV starting in the Summer 2024 term. The instructor will contribute to developing the course exam, conduct two webinars per term, grade exams, and respond to technical questions online. In this session, Damodaran returns to intrinsic value basics and examines how, if you do intrinsic valuation right, the value of intangibles should be incorporated into your value (with no garnishing for premiums and discounts) as well as how, at least when intangibles are separable, you can value individual intangible assets. He uses Birkenstock as an example to value its many intangibles, from a great management team to brand name to celebrity endorsements, and even the “Barbie buzz.”

Checking and Reviewing a Financial Model: What to do When Something Goes Wrong In this session, Ian Schnoor will show you how to check and review a financial model to ensure that it is accurate.
