JANUARY 2022 LEADERSHIP ADDRESS

In a video address to the CBV community entitled Conquering New Frontiers, the leadership of CBV Institute takes a look back at 2021 and a look ahead at 2022 to share challenges, successes and opportunities for the CBV profession at the end of an extraordinary year. CBV Institute’s extensive leadership team, consisting of the Office of the Institute together with the Board of Directors, is represented by Christine Sawchuk (President & CEO) and Anish Chopra (Board Chair).

This presentation to all CBVs and Students incorporates the latest video edition of our Leadership Report series, which reports highlights from meetings of the Board of Directors to you as constituents of CBV Institute. Included are highlights from the last Board meeting of 2021, held on December 2nd.

AT-LARGE DIRECTOR - EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

We will hold our election of Directors to the Board of Directors during our Annual Meeting of Members on June 16, 2022, in Toronto. The Governance and Nomination Committee of the Board assumes responsibility for the nomination of suitable CBVs for election to the Board of Directors in addition to Members elected in respect of a Region. This year, there is at least one At-large Director seat up for nomination by the Governance and Nomination Committee. At-large Directors serve for a three-year term.

In order to be considered by the Governance and Nomination Committee, please express your interest by following the application process detailed in the Board of Directors At-Large Position Profile by January 31, 2022.

In our ongoing commitment to professional excellence, the Institute’s Leadership has adopted a proactive approach to recruit candidates to serve on our Board of Directors (Board). Every seat on our Board plays an important role in supporting us to meet our critical strategic goals for our future. We want to alert you now that we will be holding an election in early 2022 for the following Regions:

  1. the Province of British Columbia and the Territory of Yukon (“British Columbia”),
  2. the Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and the Territories of Nunavut and Northwest Territories (“Prairies”),
  3. the City of Toronto, and
  4. the Provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island (“Atlantic”)

MQE 2022 - CALL FOR QUESTIONS

Preparations for the 2022 MQE are under way! CBVs interested in submitting a question for the 2022 MQE should submit a 1-page synopsis of their question to CBV Institute’s Education Department, at education@cbvinstitute.com, by Friday, January 14, 2022.

On Friday January 21, 2022, CBVs will be invited to the 2022 MQE Authors Clinic (on Friday, January 28, 2022) based in part on their synopsis.

A reminder that CBVs need to submit their special status form for the upcoming membership renewal. This should be done as soon as possible.

If you're considering applying for any special membership statuses (parental leave, retiree, financial hardship, disability or education), submit your form to membership@cbvinstitute.com. Please note, if you currently are a retired member, you do NOT need to resubmit a retiree form.
