MENTAL HEALTH & WELLNESS RESOURCESIn these challenging times, we at the Institute are mindful of the anxieties that may be felt by CBVs and Students adapting to the new normal. It is normal to feel anxious and afraid as we continue to deal with effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. While this situation is stressful for all, people living with mental illness may be finding it especially difficult to cope. Remember: no matter where you are or what you’re going through, you don’t have to go through it alone. To that end, we are sharing these available resources for mental health and well-being which can lend support to you or to someone you know. |

REGIONAL DIRECTOR ELECTION - QUEBECOn January 8, 2021, a Notice of Election, with supporting documentation, was emailed to the Members in the Province of Quebec. The deadline for receipt of the nomination form is March 31, 2021. We encourage everyone who feels that they can make a contribution to the Board and support the CBV Institute’s vision to give consideration to seeking a nomination. |

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL REVISIONS ED (2021) – COMMENT PERIOD OPENThe comment period for the 2021 IVS Additional Technical Revisions Exposure Draft (ED) is open until April 30th. This ED includes some important changes to business valuation, notably:

IVS 500 – FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS ED – COMMENT PERIOD OPENThe comment period for the IVS 500 Financial Instruments Exposure Draft (ED) is open until April 19th. This ED proposes a significantly different approach to the valuation of financial instruments. The objective of IVS 500 is to establish principles that will enable entities to derive fit for purpose valuations of financial instruments in all market conditions and circumstances. CBV Institute encourages CBVs to review and provide comments, especially on areas where they may disagree. |
