REGIONAL DIRECTOR ELECTION CANDIDATESNominations for the 2023 Regional Election (the Province of Ontario, not including the City of Toronto) are due February 28, 2023. In accordance with the By-laws, CBV Institute is to report to the Members, prior to the end of the nominating period, the nominations that have been received for each region. To date, no nominations have been received. Completed nomination forms must be returned by February 28, 2023, by email (pdf) to The Secretary, c/o Deborah Hanlon (deborah.hanlon@cbvinstitute.com), CBV Institute, 277 Wellington St. West, Suite 808, Toronto, on M5V 3E4. Ballots for each regional election will be issued in early March. |

PROGRAM OF STUDIES - UPCOMING DEADLINESExam Opt-Out Deadline – Tuesday, February 21 York University will send all students a link to opt-out of their course exam if they so wish. After opting-out of an exam, a reduced re-enrolment price will automatically apply when you register for that course in the next semester. Students will not be permitted to opt-out of their exam after this deadline. Apply for Academic Accommodations Deadline – Tuesday, February 21 In order to apply for academic accommodations, students may submit the appropriate documentation to education@cbvinstitute.com. |

UPCOMING EVENT: PRACTICAL ISSUES IN FAMILY LAWWe are excited to announce an upcoming event co-hosted by CBV Institute and Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario (FDRIO). The event will provide valuable insights and guidance for chartered business valuators. It will feature three sessions, covering the cross-examination of a CBV in family law, valuing RSUs and stock options, and the expanding and evolving role of CBVs in alternate dispute resolution. This is a fantastic opportunity to stay current on important issues, learn from industry experts, and network with colleagues. We hope to see you there! This event is available over LIVESTREAM. |

TORONTO WORKSHOP - VOLUNTEERS NEEDEDWorkshops are collaborative venues for CBV professional development at the local level. Workshops advance professional topics of local interest and provide the opportunity for CBVs to receive technical guidance close to home. Workshops qualify to earn CPD hours from CBV Institute. Organizers also promote regional networking activities and social events, supporting a sense of community that connects the CBV profession. Facilitated by CBV Institute, workshops are spearheaded by dedicated volunteers. Regional organizing committees are mobilized by CBVs to plan and deliver events, which are open to all CBVs and Students in the local area.
