FCBV Designation

Granting of the Fellow designation is the highest honour awarded by CBV Institute. The FCBV recognizes Members who 

• Provided distinguished service to the business valuation profession; and
• Significantly elevated recognition of the business valuation profession.

Life Member Designation

The Life Member designation is granted to Members who have attained eminence in the business valuation profession and have retired from active practice.

TOP CBV UNDER 40 IN MEMORY OF DAVID CORNFIELD CA, CBV

Nominations are now open for Top CBV Under 40 in Memory of David Cornfield CA, CBV. This award recognizes an exceptional CBV on-the-rise in his or her career who has demonstrated success in a broad range of interests, brought distinction to the profession and embodies outstanding service. Such a CBV is inspiring not only for career accomplishments, but for realizing meaningful ways of giving back.

MQE QUESTION AUTHORSHIP INFORMATION SESSION

CBV Institute will host an information session in early to mid-December for CBVs interested in submitting a question for the 2025 MQE. The session will cover key details, including compensation, timelines, and expectations for authors.

TEST WRITERS/ASSISTANT MARKERS NEEDED

CBV Institute is looking for Program of Studies Exam Test Writers/Assistant Markers who have successfully completed the MQE.

• The position responsibilities include:
• Test write a Program of Studies final exam under exam conditions (2.5 hours for all courses except Level 4 and 3 hours for Level 4) and mark your response using the marking key provided.
• Provide suggested changes and feedback on clarity, timing, fairness, and technical accuracy.

For core courses, provide marking assistance to the course instructors.

All work is conducted remotely. If interested, please email education@cbvinstitute.com for compensation information. Please indicate which course(s) you would be comfortable assisting with, your availability, and the year in which you completed the MQE.

“CBV Institute or CICBV – which do I use in reports?” Members should continue to refer to reports as being prepared in accordance with Practice Standards of The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators. As the legal name of the Institute has not changed, reports and engagement letters are unaffected by the CBV Institute brand identity.

As a point of clarification, CBV Institute is the trade name of The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators. The trade name was introduced to facilitate our public marketing and communications efforts. (Use of Trade names is a common practice for many business brands.)
