CORPORATE FINANCE INSTRUCTOR NEEDED

CBV Institute is seeking an instructor to teach Corporate Finance starting in the Winter 2025 term. The instructor will play a key role in developing the course exam, leading two webinars per term, grading exams, and providing online support by responding to technical questions. If interested, please send your resume and a brief summary outlining how your experience aligns well with the role to saam.bandari@cbvinstitute.com.

BV RESOURCES: GOODWILL DISAGREEMENTS

Transcripts of archived webinars are included in our BVR portal (for access instructions, please click here and log in), including this recent training event: Is There or Isn’t There Goodwill: Expert Disagreements. Floridian expert witness Josh Shilts provides his take on mitigating bias, communicating effectively and tackling common areas of contention around personal goodwill in divorce litigation. Much of Shilts’ guidance crosses all borders – including why and how he has changed his document request list for personal goodwill, the importance of creating an audit trail and work paper history, and how to identify various intangibles through inquiry, observation, and through assessment of the industry and the market.

EXPOSURE DRAFT RELEASED: PB5

CBV Institute is seeking comments on revisions to Practice Bulletin No. 5 (PB5). PB5 has been revised to expand guidance on situations where reporting standards are not intended to apply. We welcome feedback from all stakeholders until May 16, 2024.

The revised PB5 (renamed Guidance as to when reporting standards are not intended to apply) does not change any of the standards or their interpretation. It simply clarifies existing practice and provides expanded guidance on several areas, particularly those work products commonly referred to as ‘illustrative pricing analysis’.
