We are pleased to announce the recipients of CBV Institute’s 2025 Awards & Honours. Please join us in congratulating the following individuals and celebrating excellence in the business valuation profession!
The CBV Fellow designation, known as FCBV, was created to recognize CBVs who have brought distinction to the business valuation profession and achieved recognition, both professionally and in their communities. It is the highest designation the Institute confers.
In 2025, CBV Institute welcomed two more Fellows. We are pleased to announce that Larry Andrade and Doug McPhee have been admitted by CBV Institute’s Board of Directors to receive FCBV honours. Congratulations, Larry & Doug!

It is a great honour to receive the FCBV honorary designation from the CBV Institute and my esteemed peers. The FCBV designation is a great reminder to me of the importance and responsibility we share to uphold the integrity and values of our CBV profession, and continuously pursue the goal of personal development and improvement. Thank you to everyone, especially my mentors and Deloitte team, for their significant and on-going contributions to my career – I am grateful.
Doug McPhee

I am both delighted and honoured to be recognised with the FCBV designation. I didn’t envisage spending my career dedicated to valuation when passing the MQE nearly 30 years ago, but my CBV helped open up an incredibly rewarding international career spent in Canada, the UK and ME, firstly with KPMG and more latterly with one of the world’s largest Sovereign Wealth Funds. And to our current and future students I would say the CBV remains as relevant today as it was all those years back.
Each year, CBV Awards of Excellence recognize exceptional CBVs who have gone above and beyond, both professionally and in their communities. The Top CBV Under 40 Awards were created in memory of David Cornfield CA, CBV. This award recognizes outstanding service and success in a broad diversity of interests, while bringing distinction to the CBV profession.
It is our pleasure to announce that Rachel Ryman is the recipient of the 2025 Top CBV Under 40 Award. Congratulations, Rachel!

I am honored to receive the Top CBV Under 40 Award in memory of David Cornfield, CA, CBV.
This significant achievement reflects the invaluable support and mentorship I’ve received throughout my career from my colleagues at MDD, RSM, and Deloitte, as well as from my clients, family, and friends. I am particularly grateful to Deloitte, and to my partner and nominator, Larry Andrade, for offering the platform and opportunities that have accelerated my career and personal growth.
Receiving this award during my maternity leave adds a special significance to this moment. It brings me immense fulfillment to be recognized by a community that champions inclusivity, integrity, and excellence. This award inspires me to continue making meaningful contributions to our field.
The CBV profession is a collaborative community of dedicated Members and Students, many of whom take an active role in assisting CBV Institute’s efforts to achieve professional excellence. The Ambassador of the Year Award pays tribute to an exceptional volunteer for distinguished service in advancing the Institute’s programs, services and goals.

I am very honored to receive the CBV Institute’s 2025 Ambassador of the Year Award. I would like to thank my fellow CBVs and the Institute staff who I’ve had the pleasure of working with in these many different committees and capacities including the joint retainer project, family law group, Congress planning, Toronto workshop, and the FDRIO/CBV institute half day seminar.
These opportunities have allowed me to promote the good work the Institute does to other organizations and other professionals. I look forward to continuing to volunteer with the Institute for many years to come.
The ED&I Impact Award honours a CBV who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within the profession. This individual not only champions inclusive practices but also inspires others to do the same, helping to shape a more equitable future for our community. Their contributions reflect the spirit of CBV Institute’s mission, vision, and values.

I’m honoured to receive the inaugural ED&I Award from the CBV Institute. In a time when equity, diversity, and inclusion are increasingly politicized, it’s critical to remember that ED&I is not about ideology, it’s about building stronger, more resilient organizations.
Inclusive workplaces attract top talent, foster innovation, and reflect the clients and communities we serve. I’m proud to be part of a profession that recognizes this and remains committed to meaningful, long-term progress.
