Susie is a member of the Valuation & Litigation Support practice, which is part of KPMG’s Deal Advisory Group. She has over 15 years of experience in the areas of business valuations, assurance, and finance.
Susie is a CPA, CA, CBV with over 10 years of professional experience. She joined Ernst & Young LLP in Assurance as a co-op student in 2004 and transitioned to EY’s Valuations group in 2009. In late 2013 Susie moved into industry at Bell Canada, where she worked in a Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis role, working directly with Senior Wholesale & Finance Executives. After three years in industry, Susie returned to Valuations as a Senior Manager with KPMG LLP in Vancouver.
Susie has been involved in numerous valuation engagements of private and public companies in Canada and Internationally, undertaken in connection with mergers and acquisitions, litigation, securities regulatory matters, corporate re-organizations and financial reporting, spanning across a wide range of industries, including mining, technology, power, private equity/pension funds, and manufacturing. Susie provides high quality work product efficiently, and her friendly and outgoing demeanor has been instrumental in her building and maintaining long-term relationships.

Mike is the Chief Financial Officer of Petwin Bancorp Inc. (“Petwin”) based in Calgary. Petwin has real estate and private equity investments across Western Canada and the Western US. In his role, Mike provides financial oversight across all investments, in addition to sourcing and executing on new investment opportunities and financing matters. Prior to this, Mike has a partner a national accounting firm, focused on providing financial advisory, litigation support, transaction advisory, forensic accounting, and loss quantification services to a wide variety of clients.
A lifelong Calgarian and a third-generation accountant, he strongly believes in giving back to both his profession and his community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Norfolk Housing, and previously was on the Board of Governors of the Lindsay Park Sports Society and was a founding director of BodyWhys Youth Canada, a charitable organization focused on youth eating disorders.

Prem specializes in the quantification of damages, business valuations and forensic accounting. His practice has been focused exclusively in this area since 2001. In 2013, Prem was named the “Top Chartered Business Valuator under 40” by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (“CICBV”) and in 2014 and 2016, he was awarded the Communicator Award by the CICBV. Prem is located in Toronto, Ontario, but his practice has encompassed various jurisdictions across Canada, the US, Europe, South America and the Caribbean.
Prem is a frequent public speaker and writer, and has published articles and papers in numerous legal and accounting periodicals including the Journal of Business Valuation, CA Magazine, Business Valuation Digest and the Advocates’ Journal. Prem has taught accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels at York University’s Schulich School of Business and the University of Ontario.
Prem currently sits on and previously sat on the Board of Directors of various organizations.
Patrice Dumais, CPA, CFA, ASA, CBV

Patrice is a partner at EY, specializing in valuation, litigation, and financial modeling. For nearly 25 years, he has dedicated a major part of his time to advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, business valuation, financial analysis, and quantification of financial damages. In January 2010, he was transferred to PwC’s New York offices for nearly three years, where he led several projects for American and international clientele in the field of large-scale international valuation and transactions. He regularly works with legal professionals and advises companies on valuation and strategy during transactions.
Patrice has been involved in, or has overseen the production of, over sixty valuation reports and financial damages quantification reports each year for the last 25 years. He has also carried out numerous mandates and prepared reports on damage quantification or share valuation in litigation or shareholder disputes.
In addition to a Bachelor of Commerce with specializations in accounting and finance, Patrice holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designations as well as the American certification of Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA).

James Dyack is a Calgary-based Partner with MNP’s Valuations and Litigation Support practice in Alberta. With 24 years of professional services experience in business valuations and management consulting James’ focus is on valuations and advisory services related to litigation support, tax, transactions, and financial reporting.
He has qualified as an expert witness in the Court of King’s Bench, has testified in Federal and Provincial disputes and numerous ADR matters, has provided expert evidence to the BC Utilities Commission, and has represented clients in disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency. James spent 16 years with one of the Big-4 firms in roles from senior consultant through partner across Canada in Toronto, Halifax and Calgary.
Between 2013 and 2016, James owned and operated an oilfield services and a boutique advisory firm – advising on transactions, valuations and litigation matters. James is also a professional engineer (Ontario) and was a nuclear design engineer with Atomic Energy of Canada and Babcock & Wilcox before pursuing his MBA.
Trevor Hood, CPA, CA, CFF, CBV

Trevor is a Partner at SB Partners LLP and President of SB Partners Valuations Ltd. Based in Burlington; he supports clients across Southern Ontario. Trevor is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), and is certified in Financial Forensics.
Trevor’s career has focused on the area of family law, and his expert testimony has been well tested in court. He works closely with the Halton, Peel and Hamilton Law Associations running workshops for lawyers to reinforce the importance of Business Valuations in family law matters.
In addition to the area of family law, together with his team of six, Trevor specializes in mergers and acquisitions, and income tax and succession planning related valuations with a focus on private enterprise.
On top of his caseload, Trevor has been an active participant across various committees within the CICBV prior to joining the Board. He is a current member of the Board of the Flamborough Girls Hockey Association and is active with the campaign cabinet of the United Way of Hamilton and Halton.

Corinne Larkin is a member of the Advisory Services practice at Grant Thornton LLP and is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Specializing in valuation for financial reporting, business valuations, litigation support and loss quantification, her depth of expertise comes from over 16 years of servicing clients. She also helps clients understand the value of their business, including their intangible assets, meet their financial reporting requirements and other valuation needs. Her client base includes small-and medium- sized entities and large public companies across a wide range of industries.
Corinne graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax in 2003. She obtained her Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 2008 and her Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation in 2015. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Corinne worked at a large public accounting firm on their valuation team, and at a local firm in their assurance group.
Prior to becoming a board member, Corinne served on several community boards and supported the CBV Institute through committee involvement.

Lara is the Controller at McGill University where she is committed to providing progressive and prudent management of the university’s financial resources. Lara is also dedicated to leveraging her accounting, finance, valuations, and transactions experience in working with organizations that are realizing big visions. In her previous role as a Vice President in the Valuations group at PwC in Montreal, Lara advised business, both public and private, on business and intangible asset valuations, primarily for transactions and financial reporting purposes. Lara also provided loss quantification services for litigation purposes, primarily in the context of shareholder disputes. Lara has broad cross-sector experience, with a concentrated depth in the real estate, higher education, media, and technology industries. Lara is also a frequent public speaker and an instructor of business valuation courses.

Mark is the Associate Chief Accountant and Head of Sustainable Finance at the Ontario Securities Commission and has over 20 years of securities regulatory experience.
Mark is responsible for providing technical accounting and auditing expertise to staff of the OSC with respect to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), U.S. GAAP and Canadian Auditing Standards (CASs). He is also responsible for overseeing the development of regulatory policy and guidance on sustainability and climate-related matters and represents the OSC in domestic and international sustainable finance initiatives

Prior to founding Kalos, she was a Global Investment Banker at Scotiabank and a lead Financial Due Diligence Manager at Ernst & Young LLP (“EY”). Mackenzie is also a former competitive hockey player, having represented Canada in international competition as the starting goaltender.

Michael Sileika is MNP’s National Lead Partner for Valuation and Litigation Support Services. With over 25 years of experience, he specializes in valuations for mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, economic loss quantification, fairness opinions, and financial reporting. Michael established MNP’s Valuations practice in BC in 2010, growing it into a 14-member team, and became the national lead in 2019, driving expansion across Canada. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and earned his CPA and CBV designations in 1999 and 2002, respectively. He has also served on several nonprofit boards and committees, including the CICBV Congress organizing committee.

Ian is the Chairman of Gus Wanke Capital Corp. and is focused on identifying and investing in mid-market private companies. Ian brings more than 17 years of M&A, Private Equity, and Business Valuations experience, and had spent more than 11 years at a leading Canadian pension fund, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), where he was directly involved in the investment and commitment of more than $7 billion of capital during his tenure. Most recently Ian held the position of Managing Director and Head of the Business Services sector vertical within the Private Equity team at BCI and he was also a member of the Private Equity Investment Committee. Prior to BCI, Ian was a Vice President within Deloitte’s Corporate Finance / Investment Banking team in Vancouver, where he focused on sell-side M&A engagements and Ian also held roles within Deloitte’s Transaction Services and Business Valuations teams. Ian started his career completing private equity acquisitions for Krystal Financial Corp. (now Krystal Growth Partners), a Vancouver-based family office. Ian has experience sitting on non-profit and regulatory boards and has acted as a board observer for multiple private companies across North America, Europe, and Asia. In the past, Ian was a Course Instructor for the CBV Institute’s Corporate Finance course, he was a member of the CBV Institute’s Education Committee, and he was an Academic Advisor overseeing the program delivery for various CBV Institute courses. Chris is a valuation and damages expert focusing on corporate/commercial, securities, tax, and restructuring disputes. He draws upon his extensive corporate finance and M&A transaction advisory experience to bring a real world perspective to complex financial issues.
Chris has testified in both US and Canadian courts as well as numerous arbitration and mediation proceedings. He has held a number leadership and advisory roles within the capital markets industry, including as an advisor to the Ontario Securities Commission and the President and Chairman of the CFA Society Toronto.

Christine Sawchuk is the President & CEO of CBV Institute. She is responsible for the conduct of the affairs of CBV Institute, including managing the overall resources, operations, and strategic direction of the Institute. Included in her duties is the ideation, planning, and implementation of new and long-term strategic goals; management of the Institute’s financial resources; oversight of the delivery of various programs and services offered by CBV Institute; and the advancement of the interests of the CBV designation and the business valuation profession. In doing so, Christine works closely with the Institute’s staff, board of directors, Members, Registered Students, and external stakeholders such as the media, regulators, government organizations, and other organizations in the valuation profession in Canada and worldwide.
