We believe the path to a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation should be open to people from every background. CBV Institute helps make it more affordable through a dedicated scholarship and a discount for post-secondary students.
Post-secondary student discount
Students currently in university or college can start working toward the CBV designation at a reduced rate. Post-secondary students pay $200 per core course, instead of the regular $960, for up to two of the four core courses (Levels 1–4). A $50 annual student fee applies.
It’s a low-cost way to begin the designation, build valuation skills early, and get a head start on your career before you graduate.

Prosper Scholarship
The Prosper Scholarship supports Indigenous representation in the business valuation profession. Each year, CBV Institute awards it to one Indigenous individual pursuing the CBV designation, covering the full cost of the program.
The scholarship covers:
- Fees for all required courses
- Fees for all elective courses
- The Membership Qualification Examination (MQE) fee
- Textbooks for every course
To apply, complete the online application and submit documentation confirming Indigenous identity, a resume, and a statement of purpose.
Applications for 2026 are now closed. The next round opens in March 2027.
