CBV Young Professionals in Valuation is putting the spotlight on 4 CBVs who have achieved professional success and happiness in their respective fields. Join us for an engaging series of interviews every Friday at 12 pm EST starting on November 27th for 3 weeks. Each week, different CBV professionals will share their unique story and professional journey in an intimate fireside chat. What did it take to get to where they are today? What skills were needed to get there? Who guided and helped them along the way? What strategies ultimately helped them succeed?

This series of webinars is targeted towards Students and young CBVs. The series features 4 distinguished young professionals, each showcasing different practice areas and different areas of CBV expertise. Each webinar will be one hour in length, and include time for audience Q&A.

Alana Geller, CPA, CA, CFF, CBV

Alana is a Partner at Richter in Montreal, where she has been employed for the past 16 years. She works closely with corporate executives, business owners and their families, as well as the broader legal community in the areas of business valuation and dispute advisory. Since obtaining her CBV in 2012, Alana has been involved in the financial aspects of many significant disputes acting as an advisor or independent expert. She has valued mid-to-large-sized private companies in the context of a transition planning and transactions. She has also supported many entrepreneurs and families through the creation or modification of ownership arrangements, compensation plans for key executives as well as sensitive shareholder matters including dispute resolution, governance changes and succession planning.

Susie Foley, CPA, CA, CBV

Susie Foley was recently promoted to Partner at KPMG Vancouver, where she practices in the Valuation & Litigation Support practice, part of KPMG’s Deal Advisory Group. Susie has over 15 years of professional experience in the areas of business valuations, assurance, and finance. She joined first joined EY as a co-op student in the audit practice in 2004 and transitioned to EY’s Valuations group in 2009. In late 2013, Susie moved into industry at Bell Canada, where she worked in a Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis role. After three years in industry, Susie returned to Valuations as a Senior Manager with KPMG LLP in Vancouver.

Since obtaining her CBV in 2011, Susie has been involved in numerous valuation engagements of private and public companies in Canada and Internationally, undertaken in connection with mergers and acquisitions, litigation, securities regulatory matters, corporate re-organizations and financial reporting, spanning across a wide range of industries, including mining, technology, power, private equity/pension funds, and manufacturing. Susie is also currently a director on the Board of the CBV Institute as the regional director for British Columbia.
