This presentation will focus on being an effective expert witness.  We are fortunate to have the solicitors and one of the experts who worked on the recent landmark case, Alfano v. Piersanti where the admissibility of the defendant’s financial expert’s evidence was challenged.  The plaintiff solicitors will discuss what they saw in the time dockets and emails of the defendant’s financial expert and how they obtained that information and presented it in court.  The information ultimately led to a disqualification of that expert at trial, which was subsequently upheld by the Court of Appeal.  Justice Gary Trotter will provide his views on what it takes to be an excellent expert; to ensure your evidence in weighed reasonably when arriving at trial decision.  Tom Strezos, CBV, will moderate the discussion.  He was involved in the Alfano matter.
