With one of the largest teams of accredited business valuators in Canada, KPMG is a respected leader in the provision of valuations and fairness opinions. KPMG clients receive the attention of dedicated senior valuation professionals who remain actively involved in all aspects of the engagement.
Valuations are often subject to third-party scrutiny. KPMG professionals monitor the changing laws and sensitivities of regulators, standard-setting bodies, taxing authorities, and the courts. We adopt an anticipatory mindset to help ensure that contentious issues and potential objections are recognized and addressed prior to issuing our report.
What you will do:
Senior Consultant
Your responsibilities may include:
Document review.
Financial analysis.
Preparing tables and graphs.
Industry and economic research.
Report writing and editing.
Financial model building and review.
General file management.
Manager
Lead work streams on a broad array of valuation and gain experience in other corporate advisory projects.
Take responsibility for the preparation of detailed financial modelling, financial analysis and the application of a variety of valuation methodologies.
Take responsibility for the preparation of client reports and other deliverables.
Supported by a leading team, you will deliver exceptional client service by maximizing results and driving high performance from people, while also fostering collaboration across KPMG practice areas.
Guide and coach junior team members through challenging and meaningful opportunities.
Identify new business opportunities and lead the creation of proposals and presentations to future clients
Network, build and maintain relationships with clients and with our internal network.
What you bring to the role:
Senior Consultant
A minimum of 2-5 years’ of work experience in the area of accounting and/or finance.
Ability to perform complex formulas in Excel
Excellent analytical and writing skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Enrolled, or willing to enroll in the CBV program with a view to obtaining their CBV designation.
Experience working in a regional or national accounting practice.
Proficiency working with Word, Excel and/or Powerpoint.
Experience building and reviewing financial models
Experience using Bloomberg and Capital IQ
Have obtained or in the process of obtaining the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) Designation
Manager
CPA, CA designation.
Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) obtained or are near completion, and/or CFA designation.
Executed significant valuation engagements for a range of purposes.
Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to lead teams to produce outstanding results for our clients.
Demonstrated experience in training, coaching, mentoring and developing junior staff members.
Advanced valuation and financial modeling skills, along with excellent report writing skills.
Business acumen/commercial awareness and can identify business development opportunities.
