It currently manages close to $800 million on behalf of individuals, foundations and institutions, with investment mandates spanning Canadian and Global equities, as well as fixed income securities. Position Description

AA&A is looking to add an analyst to its equity research team. The candidate will contribute to the success of the firm by supporting the research team. The role’s main responsibilities include:

  • Review quarterly financial statements and summarize highlights in written reports
  • Create and update stock valuation models
  • Perform detailed financial analysis on public companies to identify investment opportunities
  • Participation within research team discussions
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from portfolio managers

The sought-after candidate must have strong analytical skills and problem solving aptitudes, excellent communication abilities (oral and written), be a good team player and demonstrate a high degree of initiative and autonomy.

Qualifications

The candidate must have:

  • Passion for financial markets and a desire to learn
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an equity analyst
  • Fully proficient in English and French (oral and written)
  • Presentation skills and a clear communicator
  • CFA Charterholder, or in progress
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel advanced level)
  • Expertise of fundamental analysis methods (modeling) and principles of value-based investing
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and Capital IQ an asset
  • Accounting designation such as CPA or a CBV (Chartered Business Valuator) certification would be a significant asset
