Your key responsibilities
As an analyst, you have the opportunity to work within our TAS specialty practice who is recognized as a trusted source of expertise for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financing, privatization, and recapitalizations. As part of this team you will contribute to advising C-suite executives and private company business owners on evaluating strategic alternatives in the context of transactions.
Skills and attributes for success
- Define and analyze key business drivers
- Perform and synthesize research to be used in modeling, competitive analysis, industry analysis, negotiation support and various other applications
- Develop financial models within broadly defined guidelines
- Prepare 1st draft of marketing materials
- Prepare presentations for client meetings
- Provide strategic advice to clients across a range of industries and transactions
- Execute transactions and support the team’s deal origination activities and development
- An ability, with guidance and direction, to work independently to complete tasks
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Undergraduate degree
- Working knowledge of the Canadian and International Finance and Accounting concepts and principles as it relates to M&A transactions
- Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
- Strong computer and financial modeling skills
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
Ideally, you’ll also have
- A professional designation, such as the:
- CPA designation or successful completion of the CFE;
- CBV designation or progress towards the completion of the CBV program of studies; or
- CFA designation or progress towards the completion of the CFA program of studies
- A minimum of 2 – 4 years of work experience in a related field
