The CBV Program of Studies provides the foundational education and training necessary to develop advanced CBV skills and expertise. Course Content & Delivery
All course materials are developed by CBV Institute, in conjunction with BV subject matter experts in their respective fields. Courses are led by instructors who are CBVs, delivered online via the Moodle learning platform, and hosted by York University where Students can access course notes, a discussion forum, previous exams, suggested solutions and other relevant information.
Course & Program Completion
At the end of each course, exams are written in either French or English.
Students typically complete the CBV Program of Studies in two years, though there is no set timeframe in which Students must complete the Program.
Registration Requirements
While there are no requirements for entry into the CBV Program of Studies, Students will be required to provide proof of a university degree from a post-secondary academic institution or university which has authority to grant degrees and is recognized by CBV Institute when applying for membership. Students must complete a total of six courses (four mandatory, two elective) as part of the Program.

Courses are offered in three terms per year:
- Winter Term (January – April)
- Summer Term (May – August)
- Fall Term (September – December)
Exams
Exams are written at the end of each course in the CBV Program of Studies. The exams consist of written case studies testing content covered in each course and are written in the Student’s location of choice (e.g. the Student’s home or office) using remote, live online proctoring provided by Examity.
The passing mark on the exam is 60 %

Withdrawals & Refunds
- Students may withdraw from a course and receive a refund (less a $50 administration fee that will be withheld) by using the “Withdrawal Form” that is available on their Chartered Business Valuation (CBV) Students portal only if the withdrawal request is made within 48 hours course registration.
- A refund will not be given for any requests made after 48 hours course registration.
- A full refund will be given if the CBV Institute cancels a course due to low enrolment.
