In September 2023, the institute’s Professional Practice and Standards Committee formed a taskforce to tackle issues raised by members surrounding the use of “pricing analysis” as a tool for M&A work. In this session, we will discuss the divergence of practices across the country in relation to the “pricing analysis” work product. We will provide an in-depth refresher on Practice Bulletin #5 including interpretations, clarifications and discuss recommendations made by the taskforce. We will also discuss best practices to consider for engagement letters and deliverables when undertaking M&A work.
