SPONSORED RESEARCH INITIATIVE – REQUEST FOR PROPOSALSProposals for CBV Institute’s annual Sponsored Research Initiative are due by September 9, 2024. CBV Institute welcomes all submissions that further innovative research in the business valuation field, including from students of the CBV program and from CBVs at any stage of their career. Submissions are also encouraged from academics and professionals who do not hold the CBV designation but who work in complementary areas such as accounting, finance, economics, data science, and litigation. The winning proposal can be on any under-explored topic of relevance to business valuation practitioners. Top-of-mind topics include: (1) ESG/sustainability (e.g., how ESG considerations – beyond their purely financial aspect – may be taken into account in business valuation); (2) Generative AI (e.g., how to value generative AI processes as part of an organization's value-creation process); (3) lasting impacts of the Covid pandemic (e.g., shifts to the labour market and other costs); and (4) intangible assets. Author(s) of the selected research project will be awarded CDN$10,000 by CBV Institute upon completion of the paper. |

CONNECT 2025 - CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS AND CONFERENCE PRESENTERSCall for CONNECT 2025 Volunteers Deadline to Respond – September 18, 2024 CBV Institute is seeking Planning Committee volunteers for CONNECT 2025 (June 12 & 13 in Toronto). The Planning Committee is divided into three streams – Core BV, Litigation and Deals. Members of each Planning Committee will identify thought-provoking valuation topics and timely business issues in their designated stream as well as secure expert speakers who can provide robust, in-depth presentations. Call for CONNECT 2025 Presenters Deadline to Respond - September 30, 2024 CBV Institute is accepting proposals from CBVs, lawyers, investment professionals, and industry experts who will offer innovative content for CONNECT 2025 on topics of interest to valuation professionals.
