CBV Institute is pleased to announce the creation of a new Academic Research Grant, set to launch in 2025 in collaboration with the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA).

This initiative underscores CBV Institute’s commitment to advancing thought leadership in the valuation profession. Building on the success of our Sponsored Research Initiative, the Academic Research Grant specifically targets the academic community, fostering groundbreaking research on valuation topics such as pre-revenue start-ups, intangible assets, discount rates, and more.

Grant Highlights:

  • Up to $13,000 awarded annually.
  • Open to full-time faculty members and Ph.D. students at Canadian universities and colleges.
  • Designed to encourage the publication of business valuation research in peer-reviewed academic journals and foster broader knowledge-sharing through the publication of practitioner-oriented summaries.

Why it Matters:
This grant not only provides crucial funding for academic research but also enhances CBV Institute’s visibility in academic and professional settings. By encouraging collaboration with universities and academic journals, this initiative is poised to generate innovative insights that will benefit the valuation profession for years to come.
