Position Summary
Crowe Soberman LLP is more than one of Canada’s premier independent chartered professional accounting firms. We are a group of passionate people, delivering meaningful results to our clients. We are looking for a dedicated Specialist to join our Valuations | Forensics | Litigation (VFL) team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of business valuations, loss assessments and other financial analyses in the context of dispute resolution.
- Assist in the preparation of business valuation and analysis of income for support purposes for family law related matters.
- Assist in valuation related aspects of financial reporting including fair value reporting, purchase price allocation, etc.
- Prepare forensic accounting analysis of accounting records and other personal and corporate financial information.
- Aid in the development of all deliverables including production letters, draft, and final reports.
- Consult with clients, client’s counsel, and representatives of companies to obtain necessary information.
- Conduct valuation and other related research including industry transactions, public company valuation multiples, economic data, industry-specific information, etc.
- Reviewing and commenting upon other professionals’ reports.
- Build financial models with respect to valuations and loss quantification.
- Attend and when necessary, participate in practice development activities such as meetings with referral sources, and conference exhibits.
- Undertake ongoing training and development to keep abreast of changes and current issues in the fields of forensic accounting, business valuation, family law and insurance claims.
Qualifications:
- Investigative mindset.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform thorough quantitative analysis.
- Keen attention to detail along with an ability to focus on the overall concepts.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced and changing environment with tight deadlines.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (comfortable contacting clients; conscious of client relations and expectations).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently within budgets so that multiple assignments can be handled simultaneously.
- Understanding of financial statements, business records, personal finances, employment records, etc.
Education and/or Experience:
- CPA, CA designation.
- Working towards CBV designation.
- 1+ years of relevant valuations experience.
