Located in Markham, Ontario, VSP is a growing boutique valuation practice devoted to assisting the business and legal communities with matters involving business valuation, litigation support and succession planning advisory services. Reporting directly to the Partners, the Senior Associate / Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all stages of the client engagement including planning, review and analysis of documents, financial analysis, conducting research, communications with clients and counsel, attending meetings with clients, report preparation and supporting marketing initiatives of the firm.

Job Description:
- Assist in engagement planning including identification of key issues, methodology and budgeting
- Oversight of information requests and management of documents / productions
- Financial statement and document review and analysis
- Conduct research for valuation and expert reports
- Building detailed valuation and financial models including sensitivity analysis
- Drafting valuation reports for various purposes (transactions, planning, matrimonial separation, etc.)
- Drafting expert reports for litigation support purposes (commercial, shareholder and matrimonial disputes)
- Drafting limited critique reports for litigation support purposes (review of another valuation or expert report)
- Communicate directly with clients and counsel to obtain required information
- Attend and participate in meetings with clients and their advisors
- Monitor job hours for timely revision of fee budget
- Involvement in the development of best practices within the group and administrative duties
- Support the development of junior team members (manager role)
- Assistance with quality control review to ensure quality of work product (manager role)
The skills and attributes required for this position include:
- University degree in business, accounting or finance
- CPA, CA designation (or successful completion of the UFE/CFE)
- Recent CBV (or registered student with the CICBV)
- 1 to 5 years prior valuation/litigation support related experience
- Passionate about a career in valuation and litigation support services
- Strong business writing and communication skills
- Strong financial analysis/modeling skills and understanding of financial statements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple assignments simultaneously
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, seeing a project from start to finish
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Marketing sense with interest and ambition to further grow and develop with the practice
