CBV Institute has signed the open letter for “Bet on Canada,” a national campaign calling on the federal government to make it easier to invest in Canadian companies.
The campaign was launched by the Council of Canadian Innovators and the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, alongside CPA Ontario, CBV Institute, the C100 and the National Angel Capital Organization. More than 150 Canadian CEOs, investors and business leaders have signed so far.
The letter calls for two policy changes:
- A meaningful Canadian Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) incentive, to encourage investment in Canadian growth companies.
- A broader capital gains rollover, to make it easier to reinvest the proceeds of one business into another.
Every investment, funding round and ownership transition depends on a credible, defensible view of what a business is worth. Our Members provide that view, and they see how policy shapes whether capital flows into Canadian companies. A stronger investment environment helps those companies grow.
