Manager, Debt Investments

Crestpoint Real Estate Investments Ltd.

Interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers? We are looking for a Manager, Debt Investments for an existing vacancy on our Debt Investments team. The Manager, Debt Investments will be primarily responsible for supporting the EVP, Head of Debt Investments in all areas of the debt business including but not limited to :

1) Credit, Underwriting and Due Diligence,

2) Portfolio Construction and Operations, and

3) Capital Raising and Client Service.

The ideal candidate will have general familiarity in at least one of these areas and a willingness to learn and develop their skills. Our offices currently operate on an in-office basis five days a week.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, without sacrificing high attention to detail
  • Supporting the credit/underwriting process, summarizing findings in an internal credit memo
  • Servicing updates and pipeline pro formas to the Portfolio Governance Committee on a bi-weekly basis with support from the EVP
  • Supporting the preparation of client presentation materials and drafting quarterly reporting materials
  • Ensuring our clients have a market leading experience by maintaining highest standards of timeliness and accuracy in all dealings

About You

Required:

  • 3-5 years of credit underwriting (mortgage, banking, corporate credit or corporate banking) or 3-5 years at one of the big four accounting firms working on real estate businesses
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with a performance driven mindset
  • Positive, team first, attitude
  • Interest in FI capital markets and real estate

Ideal candidate should also have some of the following, but not expected to have all:

  • Proficient in French (verbal and written) Mortgage Broker Registration or Agent Level 2
  • CPA
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, or Economics
  • Other Postgraduate accreditations (CFA, CIM, AACI)

The successful candidate will have a strong focus on risk mitigation, project management, process management, and high attention to detail. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a fundamental understanding of the real estate debt industry, an appreciation of the underlying investment performance fundamentals, advanced communication skills, and high energy with great interest in learning and growing this line of the business. Most importantly the successful candidate will have a client-first mentality and a performance driven mindset.
