We are looking for a finance analyst with a profile in marketing to help us become the best in-class retailer and within the consumer goods sector.
Your mandate will be to contribute to the development of the finance marketing practice and support financial management of the marketing organization.
You will partner with senior marketing leaders to manage and optimize their operating budget and strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate has a strong finance background while also possessing a keen understanding of digital marketing, funnel metrics and customer KPIs. We expect a candidate who will implement best practices, simplify processes for the Marketing Team and provide visibility to performance and key investments.
This role, based at our Montreal office, will report directly to the Finance Marketing Manager.
YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Be the financial business analyst for the Digital Marketing team.
- Partner with the marketing leadership team to understand the dynamics of their strategies and provide them accurate and insightful financial analysis to enable key strategic decisions.
- Structure major business cases and perform ongoing monitoring of the implementation progress, performance metrics and ROI.
- Optimize allocation of the marketing budget between each product line and type of initiative, supported by a solid and transparent data-driven decision process to maximize ROI.
- Support teams to develop their annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, set financial goals, and provide regular reporting and variance analysis to track progress against strategic initiatives.
- Partner with Marketing data science and analytics to develop a methodology to forecast return on investment of our marketing efforts and educate the organization about it.
- Elevate the knowledge of the Corporate and Regional finance team by presenting insightful metrics and analyses on major marketing trends, challenges and opportunities, along with actionable recommendations to improve customer acquisition and retention.
- Ensure the application of appropriate internal controls, SOX and financial procedures, including the monthly/quarterly closing and reporting process.
THIS ROLE IS A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- 3-5 years of experience working within the finance function, more precisely within commercial finance and business partnering.
- Experience in Marketing is a plus.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong interest in marketing.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong collaborator in building relationships with key business experts.
- An inquisitive mindset with strong analytical skills.
- A passion for metrics and figures with attention to detail.
