Our Calgary office has an immediate opening for a Manager of Business Valuations to join our team.

At MDD, our focus is litigation support and property insurance claims accounting. Our experts regularly provide extensive litigation-related services and expert witness testimony in courts around the world.

Current and past assignments include a variety of high-profile cases related to business disputes, natural and man-made catastrophes, lost profits, business valuations, fraud and corruption, business interruption, product liability and recall, and subrogation.

Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified business valuator to join our Alberta operations.  Our practice includes both commercial litigation and personal injury assignments.  Working within the MDD group, the ideal candidate would be responsible for the management and completion of assignments.  Attending client meetings and communicating the results of your analysis in an expert report will be required.  In addition to file work, this position also plays a role in new business development and maintaining current clients.

In cases of high volume, it would be expected that you would be involved in business insurance claims and investigative matters; however the primary focus of the position will be on litigation support and related valuation assignments.

There is some expectation of travel with this position, depending on the nature of the assignment.  In addition, given the nature of our work and practice, there are many opportunities for domestic and international travel.

Requirements:

  • Professional accounting designation (CA or, CMA)
  • CBV designation with a minimum of two years post designation experience
  • Thorough understanding of business valuations and related litigation support
  • Well developed analytical, computer (proficiency in excel and word) and writing skills
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and ability to problem-solve
